Chuck Shrader grew up in Knoxville, TN and attended Tennessee Tech University where he got a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. Following college, Chuck joined the Air Force as a Communications Electronics Engineer in 1983. Over the next 20 years, he served as a Communications Officer in various positions including Director of Communications for Operation Northern Watch which enforced the no-fly zone over northern Iraq and Chief of the Base Systems Branch for the United States Air Forces in Europe providing oversight of all data networks and telephone switches used by the Air Force in Europe. Chuck was called to the Pentagon to work in the Air Force Operations Center on September 11th, 2001 where he managed the Air Force’s support to civilian agencies following the terrorist attacks. Chuck retired from the Air Force in 2003 completing a distinguish career with numerous awards including five Meritorious Service Medals, a Joint Service Commendation Medal and three Air Force Commendation Medals.

After retiring from the Air Force, Chuck joined the Department of Veterans Affairs where he is currently the Director of the Atlanta Technology Center providing information technology services to 14 different offices spread across the country.

In addition to his bachelors degree, Chuck has a Masters Degree in Public Administration and a Masters Degree in Systems Management. Chuck lives in Sharpsburg, GA with his wife Kathy and has two grown children that live and work in the Atlanta area.
